Carson City is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as election workers for the upcoming primary in June that will include early voting and election day on June 11.
“As a vital component of our democratic process, election workers play a crucial role in ensuring fair, efficient and transparent elections within our community,” the Clerk-Recorder’s Office said in a news release.

Clerk-Recorder Scott Hoen expressed gratitude for those willing to do the work.

“Helping with elections is the foundation of our democracy, and we appreciate all the help we can get,” he said.

The city had 86 election workers during the last Presidential Preference Primary and aims to expand the team to 130 for the upcoming primary.

“Carson City is privileged to have long-time volunteers, some dating back to the mid-90s, contributing their time and expertise to the electoral process,” the release said. “Their continued dedication reflects the strong spirit of civic engagement within our community.”

Interested individuals can fill out a poll worker application at https://www.carson.org/government/departments-a-f/clerk-recorder/elections-department/election-worker-application.
More information about the Elections Department can be found at https://www.carson.org/government/departments-a-f/clerk-recorder/elections-department.

“Upon submission, volunteers will receive a letter from Carson City Elections to determine their availability for the two-week early election and election day time frames,” the release said. “Training is provided for each position, which includes a range of roles such as Traffic Monitors, Counting and Adjudication Boards, Ballot Box Attendants, Same-Day Registration Clerks, in person poll pad check in and more.”

Election workers will receive compensation of $12.50 per hour “as a token of appreciation for their invaluable service to Carson City,” according to the release.

Email the elections department at elections@carson.org for questions or visit the office at 885 E. Musser St., Suite 1025, Carson City.

“Join us in upholding the integrity of our elections and be a part of shaping the future of Carson City,” the office said.
