Robert L. Cooper, 85, died April 8, 2006, in Carson City.

He was born Sept. 20, 1920, in San Jose, Calif., to Leonard Cooper and Edith Batchelor.

He married Catherine Cooper on Feb. 15, 1945 in San Jose, Calif.

Mr. Cooper served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Among his survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Cooper-Smith and Peter J. Smith, of Carson City, and Elizabeth and Storms Moody, of Watsonville, Calif.; and son and daughter-in-law Robert L. Cooper Jr., and Kim Cooper, of San Jose.

Burial with private family services will be in May at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, in Santa Clara, Calif.

Cremation took place at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
