Stalling, Southwestern in semifinals

Carson High graduate Sarah Stalling and the Southwestern Community College, women's soccer team of Coos Bay, Ore., are making history.

For the first time in school history Southwestern has advanced to the Northwest Association semifinals with a 3-0 win at home this past weekend against Yakima, Wash. The association covers Oregon and Washington.

Stalling, a sophomore, scored a goal in the second minute of play and also added an assist off of a corner kick against Yakima. Southwestern will play in the semifinals on Saturday in Seattle.
