MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Josilyn Daggs notched six aces and two digs to lead the Carson Middle School seventh grade volleyball team to a 25-17, 27-25 victory over Carson Valley Middle School on Thursday.

Morgan Barton chipped in with two aces, two digs and one block for Carson, which got contributions from Kiahna Pimental (one ace, four assists and two digs), Zoey Gray (one ace, three assists and two digs), Bailey Boone (two aces, three assists and one dig) and Yana Spence (one assist).

It was Carson's season-opener.

EAGLE VALLEY SEVENTH GRADE 2, ALDER CREEK 0

Malia Tiffer scored nine points (including five assists and one kill) to lead Eagle Valley to a 25-20, 27-25 win over Alder Creek (Truckee).

Setter Savannah Smith added six points (including three aces, one kill and eight spikes) and Jennifer Purcell had five (including two aces) to lead Eagle Valley in its season-opener.

EAGLE VALLEY EIGHTH GRADE 2, ALDER CREEK 0

Courtney Hack led Eagle Valley to a 25-15, 25-16 victory over Alder Creek. HAck had three aces, four assists and four kills and got help from Katie Lytle (one ace, seven digs and two kills), Sydney Knorzer (two aces, two digs) and Kaira Stevens (one ace, three assists and two kills).

Eagle Valley is now 1-0.
