Isolated snow showers continue

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:48 a.m. all roads open with no controls with the following exceptions:

Highway 50 " Snowtires or chains required for 14.6 miles between .7 miles east of the California-Nevada state line and 6.9 miles west of US 395 in south Carson City.

Snowtires or chains required for 16.7 miles between US 95A at Silver Springs and .5 miles west of US 50A at Leetville.

Interstate 80 " Snowtires or chains required for 35.2 miles between .1 miles west of Fernley and .8 miles east of US 95.

SR 341 " Snowtires or chains required for 8.3 miles between .2 miles north of Virginia City and 4.7 miles south of US 395, bottom of Geiger Grade.

SR 431 " Snowtires or chains required for 19.1 miles between 3 miles north of SR 28 and 2.4 miles south of US 395.

Today's weather for the Carson City area will be mostly cloudy with isolated snow showers in the morning, then scattered show showers in the afternoon; highs 28-38 with north winds around 10 mph.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated snow showers in the evening; lows 9-19 with northeast winds around 10 mph.

Tuesday, sunny with highs 32-42 with northeast winds around 10 mph.

Utility work is being done on Little Lane between Saliman Road and Roop Street, mainly between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., with lane restrictions on Little Lane west of South Roop Street.

Utility work is also being done on North Roop Street from East John to Long streets, and on Corbett street, east and west side of North Roop.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays. There is continued work on Fairview Drive from South Edmonds to South Carson Street with lane closures and possible delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.

Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
