Windy, isolated showers for Carson City today

Weather for the Carson City area today will be cloudy with isolated showers; windy with areas of blowing dust in the afternoon. Highs 54-64 with southwest winds 20-35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

Tonight, windy with areas of blowing dust in the evening. Lows 31-41 with southwest winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph decreasing to 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph after midnight.

Tuesday, mostly cloudy with highs 56-66 with west winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:47 a.m. all roads open with no controls with the following exceptions:

Highway 395 " High wind advisory; campers and trailers not advised for 6 miles between East Lake Boulevard and Winters Ranch.

SR 431 " Snowtires or chains required for 7.8 miles between 4.8 miles north of SR 28 and 11.9 miles south of junction Highway 395.

Utility work continues on Little Lane between Saliman Road south Stewart Street, mainly between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., with lane restrictions on Little Lane west of South Roop Street.

Utility work is also being done on North Roop Street from East John to Long streets, and on Corbett street, west of North Roop.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.

Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
