Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Timothy Jerome McVay, 46, a carpenter from Silver Springs, was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Monday in the 1800 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of misdemeanor failure to yield to a pedestrian, second-offense drunken driving and driving on a license revoked for DUI. According to the arrest report, an elderly man was in a crosswalk on North Carson Street near Bath Street when McVay blew through the crosswalk, nearly "hitting the man by about two feet." An officer who witnessed the incident pulled McVay over in a parking lot. "As I approached the vehicle, the driver hung his head out the window and yelled at me, 'I'm drunk! Take me to jail,'" the report states. McVay's blood alcohol content allegedly registered .40 on the breath test. "Tim said he thought he would be higher," the report states. McVay's bail was set at $3,871.

• Steven Howard Barnes, 48, a sandwich maker from Carson City, was arrested at 1:53 a.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Hawaii Circle on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor domestic violence. Also arrested was a 21-year-old unemployed Carson City man on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery and Elysia Lishey Varney, 19, unemployed of Carson City, on suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor domestic battery and minor consuming alcohol.

• Kermit Kincheloe, 49, unemployed of Carson City, was arrested at 5:20 a.m. Sunday in the 3400 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $3,632.

• Brittany Renee Boop, 22, a caregiver from Carson City, was arrested at 1:25 a.m. Sunday at Airport Road and Highway 50 East on suspicion of felony possession of a prescription drug without a prescription and misdemeanor having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. Bail was set at $2,687.

• Gerry Lane Alferes, 41, a carpenter from Carson City, was arrested at 6:35 p.m. in the 2100 block of Dori Way on suspicion of gross misdemeanor abuse, neglect endangerment of a minor. Bail was set at $2,632.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Monday:

• Report of injury to a vehicle at Carson High at 7:25 a.m.

• Medications were reported stolen at 10:58 a.m. from Maxwell Road.

• A home on Tuscarora Way was burglarized and jewelry stolen sometime before 4:23 p.m.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Monday:

• Report of someone attempting to burglarize a vacant home on Iron Mountain Boulevard in Stagecoach at 7:39 a.m.

• Coroner call on Grosh Avenue in Dayton at 8:09 a.m.

• A woman on Mountain Rose Drive in Fernley reported at 1 p.m. her husband was insisting she go to the hospital but she does not want to go. Then he yelled at her about messing up the television.

• At 4:22 p.m. a Stagecoach father reported his daughter to police for having drug paraphernalia on her.

• A man reported his roommate hit him with a shovel, breaking his shoulder, on Amber Street in Silver Springs at 4:52 p.m. An arrest was made.
