A traffic stop turned into a foot chase Thursday night with the suspect ultimately eluding deputies in the sagebrush off the Lompa Ranch in east Carson
City.
The pursuit started at 11:01 p.m. on Airport Road and Highway 50 E., when the driver of the car bolted into the night and ran toward the Nevada State Prison. Deputies set up a perimeter and had the car towed after 3:30 a.m.
The car, a red Ford Mustang, was possibly driven by a 17-year-old. His mother, the owner of the car, was contacted and agreed to have the Mustang towed.
Sheriff Kenny Furlong said matter still is under investigation.
