The Churchill County Middle School girls basketball teams split their last two games in the past week.

The eighth-grades dropped a close contest at Winnemucca, 18-16, last week before drilling Silver Stage 59-5 on Tuesday.

Kiana Arvizo led the Lady Wave with 15 points, while Alexis Jarrett, Kenna Hamlin, Kaylynn Perez, Allie Lister, Chandler McAlexander and Madison Paladini each had six. Lorynn Fagg, Taylor Ingram, Shelbi Schultz and Mackenzie Cutler each scored two.

With the win, Fallon improves to 3-1.

The seventh-graders, meanwhile, also lost a close game at Winnemucca, 25-20, last week.

The girls rallied to beat Silver Stage, 29-7, on Tuesday. Makenzee Moretto led Fallon with eight points followed by six points each from Rylee Ott and Kinsli Rogne. Ariana Magana chipped in with four, while Ramsi Dolan and Aspen Mori each had two and Karlee Hitchcock scored one.

The Lady Wave improved to 1-3.
