Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on suspicion of child abuse, domestic battery

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 8:40 a.m., a 71-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of expired driver’s license and failure to appear traffic warrant after deputies initiated a traffic stop near College Parkway and northbound I-580.

At 8 p.m., a 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of a failure to appear warrant after deputies responded to reports of a petit larceny at the Highway 50 Dollar General. Bail was set at $1,610.

At 10 p.m., Micah Smith, 37, of Carson City, was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse, domestic battery and arrest of a probationer after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance near the 200 block of Carson Meadows Street. Bail was set at $6,000.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
