Lake Tahoe Brewing Company and High Sierra Brewing Company have recently merged, and will brew and distribute both their independent brews and new lines of craft beers to be released later this year.

“This is a perfect match for us and we are extremely pleased to reach an agreement with Lake Tahoe Brewing Co. to expand our capacity and reach in the craft beer market,” said J. Grant Lincoln, Managing Partner of High Sierra Brewing Company. “Both companies share the same passion about craft brew, and consolidating our efforts furthers reaffirms that commitment.”

All brewing will be done entirely out of the Sparks brewery location, located at 865 S. Rock Blvd. in Sparks, where they will produce a variety of custom brewed beers including the current High Sierra Brewing Company and Lake Tahoe Brewing Co. favorites, as well as the fast growing Battle Born series and a new line of seasonals and specialty beers under new labels.

The company’s retail locations, which operate under the High Sierra Brewing Company and Lake Tahoe Brewing Co. brands, will remain independent operations and will now be able to offer even more beers at their locations.

“The craft beer market is very competitive and by consolidating our resources and people along with our great brands we feel we are going to be very well positioned to become a much larger player in the Nevada craft industry,” said Michael Candelario, founder of Lake Tahoe Brewing. “This is a great fit for both companies and we look forward to continuing to produce the quality beers both companies have been known for as well as adding some new beers that we think will be very successful in the market.”

The agreement clears the way for Lake Tahoe Brewing Company to re-open its restaurant at 302 N. Carson Street in the near future. The restaurant, which featured such items as woodfired pizza and hand crafted ale, had to close several days ago due to not having an operation for brewing.

Candelario said he hoped to re-open the Carson City location as soon as possible and has had plans to open a restaurant in Truckee as well. Lake Tahoe Brewing Company does have a restaurant open in Fernley.
