Carson City man arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse, says Carson City Sheriff’s Office

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

TUESDAY

At 3:15 p.m., Johnnie Lawson, 28, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse and neglect after deputies responded to reports of two injured children near the 1800 block of Fall Street. Bail was set at $40,000.

WEDNESDAY

At 12:27 a.m., James Palmer, 56, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession with intent to sell, ex-felon failed to register, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver’s license, no proof of insurance and obstructed plates after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Carson and Washington streets. Bail was set at $9,900.

At 12:30 a.m., a 55-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of misuse of 911 after deputies responded to reports of a man calling 911 numerous times near William and Smith streets. Bail was set at $2,500.

At 3 a.m., a Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of failure to appear after deputies initiated a consensual stop near Carson and Bath streets. Bail was set at $370.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
