Arsonist convicted in Lovelock fire that damaged 3 buildings

LOVELOCK — Oscar Cruz-Gonzales has been sentenced to 5-15 years in prison for three counts of first-degree arson for setting fire to three buildings in downtown Lovelock in November.

The Nevada State fire Marshal investigated the fire and convicted Gonzales in January. The Pershing Pub, Treasures Bookstore and an adjacent law office were all heavily damaged.Gonzales was also ordered to pay restitution of $1,039,573.
Investigator Joel Martin said arson is a serious and dangerous crime and it’s fortunate no one was injured by the blaze.
