The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
MONDAY
• A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon at 11:30 p.m. The man was arrested after deputies responded to an apartment on reports of a domestic battery. Upon investigation they found a pair of brass knuckles. Bail was set at $2,500.
SUNDAY
• A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of minor under 14, three counts of lewdness with a minor under 14, and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1:30 a.m. Jose Manuel Araias Valencia was arrested after detectives interviewed him after a 12-year-old juvenile came forward about the multiple incidents. Valencia was interviewed and according to the arrest report detailed three incidents. Bail was set at $401,137.
• A 43-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver’s license, failure to maintain travel lane and speeding after a traffic stop on North Carson Street at 7:52 p.m. Jean Anuraga Arinoki, 43, showed signs of being under the influence of methamphetamine, according to the arrest report. The woman stated she had attended the non-official Burning Man. Bail was set at $4,008.
• A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear violation out of Lyon County. Gerado Montes-Gallegos was arrested after a traffic stop. Bail was set at $2,637.
SATURDAY
• A 47-year-old transient was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felony possession of a controlled substance, concealing evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of bail conditions and felony child abuse/neglect after deputies conducted a welfare check on a Corbett Street address at 10:28 p.m. Michael Anthony Orta was found hiding in one of the bedrooms. A bag containing methamphetamine was found inside the house. Bail was set at $34,137.
• A 60-year-old transient was arrested on suspicion of two counts of possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of bail conditions, obstructing, speeding and driving on a suspended license. The arrest of Troy Strand, Sr. occurred after a traffic stop at 4:06 p.m. The man attempted to flee the traffic stop on foot before being detained. Bail was set at $15,298.
• A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct. The main charge was allegedly harassing customers in downtown Carson City businesses around 11:30 a.m. Bail was set at $242.
FRIDAY
Multiple arrests were made after Carson City deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle exiting a residence where the Special Enforcement Team was doing surveillance on Camille Drive. After contact with the driver of the vehicle, deputies served a warrant on the address where they found two males. Inside the house they found 135 grams of heroin, 66 grams of methamphetamine, a baggie containing Xanax bars and a gun.
• A 28-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to stop at a stop sign and driving without a valid license. Bail was set at $6,279.
• A 34-year-old Carson City man, Jonathan James Moore, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substance act, trafficking of heroin, three counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to sell, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, destroying/concealing evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $66,137.
• A 51-year-old Carson City man, Gary Wilton Moore, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $3,637.
• A 59-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first after a traffic stop at North Carson Street at 10:34 p.m. Bail was set at $1,137.
