A Yerington man faces a murder charge in the death of his roommate, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Timothy Brewer, 57, was arrested Thursday, Aug. 3 in the death of Sir Charles Lester, 56. A body tentatively identified as Lester’s was found Thursday buried at the home the two shared at 4 Farrell Lane in Yerington, according to the LCSO news release.

On June 28, LCSO deputies visited Farrell Lane for a welfare check request on Lester. Friends and family reported they had not had contact with Lester in almost a week.

Brewer informed law enforcement that he last saw Lester on June 20, according to the release. Brewer said he and Lester had a verbal argument and Lester had left the residence with an unknown friend. Brewer reported he has not seen Lester since then.

On Thursday, Aug. 3, LCSO detectives conducted a search of 4 Farrell Lane, locating what appeared to be a recently-dug gravesite, the release said. The detectives and forensic technicians from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office discovered a deceased male who was tentatively identified as Lester.

Brewer was arrested for open murder and destruction of evidence and booked into the Lyon County Jail.
