Coyotes roll to victory

The Carson Coyotes Senior Babe Ruth Baseball team got off to an impressive start at the State Tournament.


Chris Ames and Jarrod Bone combined on the shutout as the Coyotes rolled to a 9-0 win over the Sparks Titans on Sunday at Sparks High. The Coyotes advanced to face the Sparks All-Stars at 5:30 p.m. today at Sparks High.


Ames struck out 10 and allowed two hits over six innings while Bone struck out the side in the seventh. A.J. James went 3-for-4 with a double, Josh Camper had two hits, including a solo home run, Wes Osmer was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Ames had two hits, Jason Knowles had a hit and two RBI, Brad Breeden doubled, Bone went 1-for-1 with an RBI and Jack Maloney, Chris Graham and Kevin Millim all added a hit as the Coyotes banged out 15 hits.
