NSP releases report on killed Fallon pedestrian

The Nevada State Police has released its preliminary investigation on an automobile crash that killed a Fallon man on March 9.

A NSP spokesman said Jesse Morin, 41, was killed when a blue 2012 Toyota Yaris was traveling eastbound on US-50, approaching Churchill County mile marker 18. Morin entered the travel lane closest to the shoulder and was struck by the vehicle. The NSP said the driver, whose name was not released, was transported to Banner Churchill Community Hospital and treated for minor injuries. Impairment of the driver is not suspected.

According to the NSP, Mori was declared dead on scene, and impairment of the Fallon man is unknown. Furthermore, the NSP said reports of a pedestrian indicated he was jumping out into traffic on U.S. Highway 50 eastbound near Churchill County mile marker 18 near Gummow Drive.

This incident is being investigated by the Highway Patrol Division’s Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - Case #220300593.
